After several months of design committee review and planning, the final location selected for the new 6-level, 1100-space parking structure was inset into an existing hill/parking lot to minimize its impact. The parking lot was designed with a series of precast concrete panels was to match the architecture of the campus, and the site was one of the first large scale photovoltaic installations in the city.

Peachland & Newhall Elementary

Between 2006 and 2007, Peachland Elementary School and Newhall Elementary School were modernized under a single contract, and a new 2,600 SF freestanding library building was added to each campus.

At Peachland, a new addition increased the size and improved the functionality of the Administration building, and at Newhall, the core building built in the 1930′s received structural and cosmetic upgrades. New IT infrastructure was also brought to all the classrooms along with a cosmetic upgrade sitewide.

While working as a project designer at this architecture firm, I created a new web presence for the company. The site was laid out using Dreamweaver and required an extensive amount of customized HTML hardcoding.

The site is no longer live, as the company was later absorbed into the offices of NTD Stichler.

YMCA Pasadena presentation

In June 2007 I was a part of the presentation team of 4 for a new YMCA project in Pasadena, CA where we worked up 3 quick schemes using Google SketchUp. In the end, the review committee was looking for a firm with more recent indoor pool experience, but the graphics and massing flyaround were still an effective way of presenting the ideas behind each scheme.

Hart High School – Phase I

Hart High School – Phase I Modernization

In April 2007, the District approached Flewelling & Moody with the need to modernise their flagship campus. Hart High School’s facilities date to the early 1950s, and other than a gymnasium built following the Northridge earthquake in 1994, the site had not seen modernization, and had not seen significant new construction since the mid 1970s.

In extensive consultations with District and site administration, instructional staff and our consultants, Phase I of the project developed into a modernization of 7 of the classroom buildings onsite, provision of a new 7 lab Modular Science building, a Band Room Addition to the Auditorium, site-wide fire alarm, new restrooms and extensive IT infrastructure upgrades.

Construction is scheduled between June 2009 through August 2010.
